Embarassingly I now lead the GC by 13 seconds over Jill and Ignacio Alonso moves to third 1:54 off the pace. The stage winners contest is tied between me and Ben Storey.

Stage 8 is another flat stage with a likely bunch finish for the fast men.

Another win for Tadej Pogačar - although perhaps not as convincing as before. But a win is a win. Congratulations to the 4 players that went with Pog today.

The GC lead is now shared between me and Martin C - but only 13 seconds clear of Jill Jenkins. Nobody has bettered 2 wins in the stage winners contest but Christover V joins S P at the top of the table by adding a second position to his tally.

Stage 7 includes 3700km of climbing - again no climbs partuclarly challenging. Could this be a day for the break?

A very popular win today - 40 people selected the stage victor Matthew Brennan! You're a clever bunch. S P now leads the GC all alone with a lead of 2 seconds over me(!) and Martin C. S P also leads the stage winners contest with 2 winners and 2 second places.

Stage 6 - yes, it's hilly. But it also includes a 2km gravel section at nearly 12% 30km from the finish. Pog is probably the favourite but others are more familiar with that terrain.
