A bit early to be burning through the GC riders but that's what it took today. 2 players appreciated Tadej's gift for Isaac del Toro - congrats to Renato C and Andrew Glover for picking todays winner.

Renato and Andrew lead the Stage Winners contest with 1 win each, and Francis Stalpers leads the GC by 8 seconds.

It's a Pyrenean stage tomorrow - although it's not expected to be a GC shoot-out. The burden of carrying yellow this early on in the tour is often avoided by the GC favourites so I suspect there may be a breakaway tomorrow that's given a bit of a long leash. Possibly.

The Team Time Trial is done and already some gaps in the GC standings. It's very early days though and plenty of opportunity to make up lost ground. No individual stage winner award for the team event - that gets underway tomorrow.

Tomorrows stage is a hilly affair. Nothing much noteworthy in the first half of the day but a punchy second half, finishing with three 12km circuits and an uphill climb to the finish. You'll need your climbing legs to get through this stage.

We're close to getting underway with the first stage - a TEAM Time Trial. A quick reminder of how this stage will work.

Your rider will be credited with their personal time and finishing position, as per the GC classifications published at the end of the stage. So if you rider sits up before the finish line you will lose time compared to the lead riders for their team.

Also, there is no 'Stage Winner' awarded for this opening day.
