An incident packed stage, including the abandonment of the race leader/favourite Tadej Pogačar. Get well soon Pog.

Nobody had the winner today although 17 players got very close with Mads Pedersen.

No material change in the GC as most were given the same time after the incident before the line, but I find myself top of the stage winners contest by adding another second place to my tally.

Stage 9 has the most elevation than any other in this tour. The absence of Tadej Pogačar throws this wide open. It's anybodys guess.

Todays results are in and good to see a breakaway make the distance. Andreas Leknessund pushed on to win much to the joy of the 3 players that selected him. Well done to Jill Jenkins, Ben Storey and me!

Embarassingly I now lead the GC by 13 seconds over Jill and Ignacio Alonso moves to third 1:54 off the pace. The stage winners contest is tied between me and Ben Storey.

Stage 8 is another flat stage with a likely bunch finish for the fast men.

Another win for Tadej Pogačar - although perhaps not as convincing as before. But a win is a win. Congratulations to the 4 players that went with Pog today.

The GC lead is now shared between me and Martin C - but only 13 seconds clear of Jill Jenkins. Nobody has bettered 2 wins in the stage winners contest but Christover V joins S P at the top of the table by adding a second position to his tally.

Stage 7 includes 3700km of climbing - again no climbs partuclarly challenging. Could this be a day for the break?
