Well that was quite a stage! Only one person had Mikel Landa today which was Tomas F - although Tomas relied on lady luck having seemingly abandoned the competition after stage 11.

A few GC casualties today - unsuprisingly - although Hofstede1904 remains top and holds 2:50 over Chus Rosso and 6:12 over Ignacio Alonso. Ben Storey still the only player with 6 winners.

Tomorrows stage is another for the fast men - assuming the stage is competitive.

A win for the break today but very few had a rider to cheer on. Eddie Dunbar went on to win - annoying as I had him drafted in for tomorrow! Regardless, 7 players cheered Buitrago on to second place and made some gains in the GC.

Hofstede1904 continues to top the GC standings and has a 4:25 lead to protect over the last 2 stages. Pogarina F moves up to second, Antti S to third. Ben Storey still the only player with 6 stage winners so leads that competition.

It's a brutal stage tomorrow - one which will almost certainly determine who go on to win the race. Those with time to make up may choose to gamble on a break but in all likelihood a GC battle will ensue.

Stefan Küng lived up to his favourite billing and duly delivered - which most people will be happy with as just about everybody selected him for today.

Stage 19 has an uneventful start but soon gets serious. GC contenders are running out of stages to make progress so we should expect some attacks on the final 18km climb.
