Wow! That was some final stage. Normally a bit of a non-event, the drama was there to enjoy.

It's the same here! 17 players picked Mathieu van der Poel and finished on a high. And the GC competition was won by Geoffrey K by just 2 seconds!!! Nolan Krentz did all they could by picking the winner today but it wasn't quite enough to turn over the 12 second lead. Honourable mention to Mario C for completing the GC podium in third.

The stage winners contest was equally as exciting. Shane Neal picked the winners of the last 3 stages to take a narrow victory on countback. Shane, Coelhoslb 1 and Simon Phuah all finished with 6 stage winners but Shane had more podiums to edge in front. Well done all!

7 players went with Richard Carapaz today and were rewarded with the win. The GC is all but over but the formality of the final stage to complete - although no material time differences are expected.

Ignacio Rosso has led the GC standings since stage 6 - but there's late drama! Ignacio lost a chunk of time and conceded the lead to Geoffrey K. Ordinarily that would be that - but Nolan Krentz is only 12 seconds behind - so all to play for going in to the final stage.

Simon Phuah still leads the stage winners standings with 6 winners, but there are 7 players with 5 that could steal Simons thunder with a win in the final.

So just 1 final flat stage to go as we reach the Champs-Élysées. Final picks are due.

Well done to those 18 players that held back their Tadej Pogačar pick to today - and received the rewards for doing so. An exciting chase up Alpe d'Huez gives Pog another stage victory.

The top end of the GC here is largely unchanged although Ignacio Rosso is giving up a little time to the chasing pack - just 1:08 ahead now. Simon Phuah launches himself to the top of the stage winners contest with 6 winners - with 5 players sitting just behind on 5.

Penultimate stage tomorrow - and possibly the toughest of the tour. Featuring the Col de la Croix de Fer, Col du Télégraphe, Col du Galibier, Col de Sarenne and a summit finish in Alpe d'Huez - you'll need to choose your rider carefully here!
